Gathering @ Shar's place/Roy's 21st @ The Nott (14.04.2009)

The day after I got back from camp, Shar had a gathering at her house, which is really nice by the way. And apparently, (according to Ben anyway), you can see Shar's house from Google Earth. O_O. Even though I didn't know where her house was, Ben collected me from Glen Waverly station, then we both took the bus down to her place. Jonathan and Edwina came from the city together and Jonathan couldn't find his way to Shar's place and we had to collect them by foot. Scout my ass. =P.

All of us. =). Feels different when you're hanging out with your high school friends in a group again. HAHA, some people thought that you cease being cousins with someone else after 4 years. If you don't get the joke, it's ok. It is an inside joke. =D.

Too bad we're all too busy with work or our friends here. Throughout the four months that I was here, I have only met up with the DJ group one or two times. Sigh.

Anyway, later that night, Roy had a dinner at the Nott (on normal days, it is just a restaurant) for his 21st birthday. Earlier that morning, he was sky diving. O_O. He even showed us videos of him jumping off the plane. According to him, when you first come out of the plane, you'll just be thrown out of balance. O_O. I was scared even watching the video of him jumping off the plane ok? LOL. And this was the first 21st birthday that I attended and it was interesting to say the least. =P.

For instance, instead of getting a birthday cake, he got 21 shots of fruit juice vodka (Cruiser). This is the "I have to drink all of it in one go?" look.

"Oh, so I'll have to drink that glass of alcohol that was set on fire too?" (It was really hot and tasted burnt apparently).

Since I left early, I missed the part where someone hoisted him on their back and spun him around and around. He later puked. HAHA.

Hmm, I don't even know some of the people in this picture. O_O.

I think Roy looks like Dragon Ball.

Always surrounded by girls. ;)

The Roberts Hall people.

Last day of Camp: The Twelve Apostles

Meet my team mates. =). They are all sooooo incredibly sweet to me la. Until now, I still keep in touch with two of them. =)

Getting ready to jump. My god, we look so funny!

Ok the first wasn't that good!

Our epic shot. I'll remember this forever man. =)

Then we headed to the Twelve Apostles. LIKE FINALLY! It was a bit frustrating being able to hear the waves crashing against the apostles all the way from our campsite (which means that we were very very very close to apostles), but not see it. We were so excited to see it that we pushed lunch back a little (the camp committee actually packed lunch to go to save time).

So close, so close.

We were acting like such tourists. Taking picture for every step.

Getting there...

And this is the funny story of how I wore my pajamas to the Twelve apostles. Well, you see the thing is right, I went at the end of summer/beginning of autumn. Being so close to the coast, the temperature at the campsite was pretty low. That's why you see me wearing jumpers etc in the previous posts. On the night before we were headed to the Twelve Apostles, it was SO cold, that wearing a jumper and using a really thick blanket didn't help much. =(. So when it was time to leave for the Apostles, even though the temperature was starting to increase, I didn't bother changing, just changed my jumper to a jacket. How was I to know that it will be so hot that I couldn't even zip up. -_____-. I still feel a bit stupid for being so lazy. -_____-. So now when I look at the photos of me at the Great Ocean Road, I see me in my pajamas and a jacket. -____-.

So gorgeous right?

The sea was sooo blue! In my favourite shade of blue!

In reality, there weren't exactly 12 apostles. A few collapsed. If I come back in like 20 years time, I wonder how many apostles will be left standing! O_O.

This is only one side, mind you!

Cause we like the colour of the ocean!

The other side.

We waited really long for this corner! But it was worth the wait.

Taking photos from every possible angle. LOL.

Group shots. It was such a glorious sunny day! Just goes to show how erratic Melbournian weather can be.

There were a lot of group shots which similar because they all came from different cameras. O_O.

The Twelve Apostles: Checked! =)

ISM Easter Camp (12.04.2009) - Part 2

Camps over here are ultra fun ok? I am just so glad that my first Easter camp is so memorable. Thanks again, Midge for asking me to come along! Anyway, continuing from where I left off, we start our days early, at around 7am-8am and they serve amazing breakfast like fried rice or macaroni AND they even provide fruits all day long to prevent constipation. And that was not a joke, I had so much fibre that I didn't have any problems in the toilet at all. =P. Then after breakfast, they would do morning exercises before starting other activities! Cool huh? Since the theme of the camp was Superheroes, we even had to learn how to run away from villains and what not! *chuckles*. It was really fun.

Other than that, we also did other stuff like...

Learn how to make onigiri! We debated really long about which workshop to join and I am so glad that we joined this instead! Now I can make onigiri whenever I like! *grins*

Midge with her onigiri.

Mine.

Guess which one is mine!! Two of them belongs to Midge while I made the other two!

Another group photo. You only see girls in this workshop because the person who conducted it is this Japanese guy who is usually quite a joker so the other guys don't trust him or something like that. LOL.

Since my workshop ended early (its really easy to make onigiri), I decided to hop around a bit and I stumbled on the chocolate making workshop.

Hannah was already halfway through so she asked us to join her. That was soo sweet of her. =). She even shared her chocolate bon bons with us!

It was a bountiful Easter.

After the workshops, we went for tracking.

Yup, we really did walk to that point so far and beyond!

On the way, you could see LOADS of cows. I kept telling people that I felt like that I was at a site to shoot Anlene commercials or something. Later when the sun went down, it wasn't fun to avoid cow dung though. Especially since it was completely pitch black and there were no street lamps (duh!).

I... didn't dare to go any nearer. HAHAHAHA. Eh, there was once, when we set the entire field of cows moo-ing because one was coming towards us and we were screaming. So yea, if a cow comes towards you, they won't attack you (they are herbivours) so don't scream. Otherwise you'll just scare yourself even more because believe me, hearing so many cows moo-ing in the middle of the night is really scary ok!

Then we had to get to the other side. AS I SAID CAMPS HERE ARE AWESOME!

Waiting in line with my team mates. My team was amazing really. They would never leave any member behind and they were always asking me if I felt out of place since I was a non-Christian.
They made Easter really meaningful for me this year. =)

Hannah and I. It's a funny story how Hannah recognised me. She came up to me and said : "Are you Edwina's friend? Because you look familiar and I remember her telling me that she had a friend whose face always turns red!". O_O. Seriously people can you guys find other descriptions for me?!

With the dental people.

We were waiting for the games to start so we were just killing time. =P.

Hmmm, I just noticed Wen Wen in the background. HAHA.

Another jump shot. LOL.

The sky's really pretty isn't it?

Midge and I before we left. If you want to know what we were doing at that beach, well, let's just say that the games here are really extreme too. We played ISM DOTA(human DOTA man), laying tarmacs filled with oil on the beach and you're supposed to roll over each other to get to the other end (this game really gave me a headache man and my clothes still had traces of olive oil even after numerous washes!), making sandwiches with one hand etc. I doubt that I'll ever forget ever playing such games in the cold. =).

Later that night, since it was the last night of camp, we just stayed up all night, lying on our backs to watch the stars, eating chips, drinking Milo.

Ahhhh, I miss camp. =(
